Pertamina Fuel Terminal Tarakan is a fuel distribution terminal that serves the receipt and distribution of Pertamax, Pertalite, Biosolar, Diesel, and Aviation Turbine Fuel (Avtur). The terminal operates under a Closed Discharge Operation system and enforces port safety and security standards in accordance with Pertamina regulations and the ISPS Code."

All personnel are required to wear PPE in accordance with terminal regulations before entering the jetty area.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all operational areas of the terminal.
Vessels are required to complete the Ship/Shore Safety Checklist (SSCL) prior to cargo transfer operations.
All loading and unloading operations must be conducted in compliance with marine pollution and oil spill prevention procedures.
Operational communications are conducted using VHF Channel 09 and VHF Channel 12.
Berthing and unberthing operations require a Pilot. Normal operations require the assistance of 2 tugboats. Additional tugboat support is subject to the decision of the Pilot and Harbour Master. Approach speed and berthing procedures must strictly follow the instructions of the Tarakan Pilot.
